Abstract:
Observation and identification of predictive factors for results and morbidity are essential in the ideal selection of patients who can use brachytherapy as a treatment modality for prostate cancer. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the population of patients with prostate cancer treated at the General Public Hospital of Palmas in 2015, in the state of Tocantins. The method used was quantitative, with the characteristics of a retrospective, transversal and descriptive analysis. Held in the largest state health unit, the General Public Hospital of Palmas that, despite its large dimensions, lives with the main problems of the Unified Health System, such as overcrowding and shortages. It was found that most of the patients seen corresponded to the age of 70 to 79 years, making 45%, followed by patients aged between 60 and 69 years, with 33%. Most of the individuals attended were from the state of Tocantins, but some lived in an adjacent city in the state of Pará. Data related to the Gleason score showed that there was a predominance of levels 6 and 7 indicating intermediate grade tumors, considering that the most of the observed population was older. It was concluded that the analyzed patients had a predominant staging of CaP II and III, thus most of the individuals, 23 of the 35 analyzed, were not able to undergo brachytherapy due to the high degree of disease staging.

Abstract:
Approximately 68.000 prostate cancer cases are estimated per year in Brazil, but many of these will present a bad
prognosis due to the difficulties of access by users of public health services and the precariousness of many of
these. This scenario is determinant for the occurrence of many cases of advanced disease, late diagnosis, worse
clinical condition and higher risk of death. The state of Tocantins has a humble health structure that unfortunately
does not yet have brachytherapy treatment for this condition and offers few beds for surgical treatment, while
radiotherapy, performed in only one city in the state, coexists with constant problems and interruptions of care.
The objective of this study is to analyze the population of patients with prostate cancer treated at the General Public
Hospital of Palmas, the main state reference, in the year 2015, and specifically to determine how many of the
patients could have been treated through brachytherapy. After approval by the Ethics and Research Committee,
data collection, analysis, organization and treatment were carried out using BioEstat® statistical software, aiming
at consolidating information, producing results and obtaining answers to the objectives of this study. The study
demonstrated that the majority of these patients came from other localities, with advanced clinical staging,
adenocarcinoma histological type, but with 19% of cases presenting criteria for treatment by brachytherapy, which
would lead to a significant decrease in the demand for beds and referrals to other centers.

Abstract:
Neste trabalho, uma metodologia teórico-experimental foi desenvolvida para
análise de iodo-125 por espectrometria gama no Detector de Germânio de Alta
Pureza (HPGe) da ORTEC. As amostras de iodo-125 foram produzidas por ativação
neutrônica no reator nuclear IEA-R1 a partir de xenônio-124 encapsulado em
compartimentos de alumínio sob o fluxo da ordem de 5x1013 nêutrons.cm-2.s-1 por
um período de 60 horas. Depois de serem irradiadas, as capsulas foram abertas e
lavadas em meio alcalino para extração do iodo depositado nas paredes internas.
A amostra final foi armazenada em frascos padrões de acrílico para a análise em
espectrometria gama. Para calibração do HPGe as eficiências no fotopico foram medidas entre 0 e 700 keV usando uma fonte de calibração certificada (bário-133)
com atividade bem conhecida. A curva de eficiência foi determinada para uma
faixa de energia que cobrisse a região de interesse para o iodo-125e os subprodutos
gerados na reação nuclear. No processo de ativação, iodo-126 foi formado como
subproduto indesejado, e esse radionuclídeo foi medido. Com o detector calibrado,
foi feita a análise da pureza radionuclídica das amostras para certificar os padrões
de qualidade internacionais estabelecidos para medicamentos radioativos.

Abstract:
Brachytherapy is a type of radiotherapy that uses radioactive sources (seeds, wires, among others) close to the tumor. Is important to provide a detailed description of seed dosimetry, so only the tumor will be irradiated avoiding unnecessary dose on adjacent organs and structures. To evaluate the dosimetric parameter of the anisotropy function for a new brachytherapy source, this work proposes the use of microcube TLD-100 dosimeters to find the dose rate using the AAPM Task Group 43 protocol (TG-43). The anisotropy function represents dose distribution around the source and has a major role for characterization of a new iridium source being implemented in Brazil. The value of D(r,θ) was measured using Solid Water phantoms, r value being the distance from the geometric center of the source to the position of the dosimeter on the phantom, and θ being the angle formed between the longitudinal axis of the source and the line connecting the geometric center to the TLD. Monte Carlo calculations were performed to evaluate the anisotropy function to validate the experimental measurements. For each distance value (r), an anisotropy function was plotted (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, and 10.0 cm). The results obtained with Monte Carlo calculations agreed ±2% with the experimental values for r greater than 3.0 cm, so these results show a good distribution of dose around the seed considering the high energy of 192-Ir (average of 380 KeV) and encapsulation thickness.

Abstract:
Purpose or Objective: Brachytherapy sources for ocular melanoma usually
contain Co-60, I-125, Pd-103 or Ru/Rh-106 as
radionuclides. Ir-192 is not a preconized radioactive
material for this purpose, although it is used for other
brachytherapy applications. Higher mean energy from
Ir-192 emission (ca. 380 keV) may be a reason for the
preference of I-125 (35 keV) or Pd-103 (21 keV) over it,
since low penetration is desired on the small structures of
the human eye. This is not, however, an excluding
criterion, considering Co-60 and Ru/Rh-106 have even
higher mean energies.
The demand in Brazil for lower-cost seeds to treat ocular
melanoma lead to the development of an Ir-192 seed to
make treatment more accessible, but since it is not used
as an ophthalmic brachytherapy source, before its
dosimetry is considered, one should care about the
possibility of using it over more stablished materials.
Considering this, the aim of this work is to assess the
possibility of using Ir-192 seeds as ophthalmic
brachytherapy sources by comparing some dosimetric
parameters of a new seed model with the most stablished
I-125 seed in literature, OncoSeed 6711. Material and Methods: As an initial study on the topic, this work relies only on
Monte-Carlo simulations using MCNP4C transport code.
Parameters analyzed are air-kerma strength, dose-rate
constant and depth-dose curve, attention given to points
within the human eye dimensions. The medium considered
was homogeneous water, as it is a good approximation to
the eye tissues in terms of composition and density and
allows for future comparisons with TG-43 based
calculations.
OncoSeed 6711 is not produced anymore, but its long term
as the reference source for dosimetry was considered. A
20 mm COMS ophthalmic applicator was also modeled and
considered to be fully loaded with each seed model to
compare the same parameters at a realistically clinical
approach. Results: As expected, due to the higher energy of the Ir-192
emission spectrum, dose fall-off on the transversal axis of
the seeds is less pronounced for the new seed model. The
steeper dose gradient for I-125 is also visible on the doserate
constant value. The effect of using a COMS applicator
only strengthens this characteristic. Depth-dose curves
were calculated up to the distance of 5 cm, both for a
single seed and for an applicator fully loaded with 24
seeds. All the eye components relevant for dosimetry are located within this range, like the cells of the crystallin
and the optical nerve. Conclusion: If one expects to use Ir-192 as an alternative to I-125 in
ophthalmic cancer treatment, at least the dosimetry
following TG-43 protocol should be carried with utmost
attention, as undesirable dose to healthy nearby tissues is
unavoidable. Crafting a different applicator most suited
for this radionuclide is a possibility that can be taken into
account. Another recommendation is to go beyond TG-43
water-based protocol and actually estimate dose to
relevant eye components.

Abstract:
Introdução: O Fricke Xilenol Gel (FXG) é um dosímetro químico considerado tecido
equivalente. A resposta do FXG se dá pela oxidação radio-induzida de Fe+2 em Fe+3.
Porém esta oxidação pode ocorrer naturalmente por diversos fatores como temperatura e
exposição à luz, e por isso faz necessário avaliar tal comportamento ao longo dos dias em
diversas condições. Materiais e Métodos: Amostras de FXG foram preparadas utilizando o protocolo
estabelecido previamente e foram divididas em duas partes. Em uma das partes foi
adicionado formaldeído como dopante. Ambas as partes foram divididas em quantidades
iguais e mantidas em diferentes temperaturas. A análise das amostras foi realizada através
de dados de absorbância coletados com um espectrofotômetro ao longo de vários dias. Resultados e Discussões: Foram observadas diferenças na oxidação natural entre as
amostras mantidas em refrigeração e aquelas mantidas em temperatura ambiente.
Também foram observadas diferenças entre as amostras com e sem formaldeído . Conclusões: As amostras mantidas em refrigeração apresentaram uma oxidação natural
muito inferior àquelas mantidas em temperatura ambiente.

Abstract:
A braquiterapia é uma modalidade de radioterapia utilizada no tratamento do câncer. Nessa
modalidade, a fonte radioativa é posiciona junto ao tumor ou bem próxima a ele. A dose de
radiação é entregue de forma contínua em um período curto de tempo (fontes temporárias) ou em
períodos mais longos durante todo o decaimento radioativo do material (fontes permanentes). A
maior vantagem da braquiterapia, é o fato da fonte estar bem próxima ao tumor o que significa
que a região alvo recebe a maior parte da dose protegendo os tecidos sadios adjacentes à região
tumoral. Shtrombakh et. al. trabalharam com césio-137 e verificaram que o uso do epóxi para a
imobilização de fontes radiativas ocorreu sem vazamento por dois anos de testes. Pesquisas
realizadas nos Estados Unidos por Folkert et. al. mostraram que placas flexíveis incorporadas com
fósforo-32 são alternativas para o tratamento de câncer do sistema nervoso central na fase
intraoperatória. No presente trabalho foi avaliada a uniformidade da placa de resina epóxi a partir
de uma metodologia desenvolvida no Laboratório de fontes para Braquiterapia do IPEN/CNEN- SP.
Vários testes foram realizados para determinar o melhor molde para a fabricação da placa.
Concluiu-se que o politetrafluoretileno (PTFE), que comercialmente é conhecido como teflon foi o
que obteve melhor resultado, devido a facilidade para desenformar a fonte após o processo de
cura da resina. As placas de epóxi foram produzidas a resina 2220 e catalisador 3154 (Avipol), à
proporção de 2:1 (massa). Para simular o material radioativo, ácido clorídrico (HCl) equivalente a 5
% da massa total (resina + catalisador) é acrescentado. O processo de cura da resina epóxi foi
durante 24 h sob temperatura ambiente. As espessuras das placas foram medidas chegando-se a
um valor médio de 0,300 mm ± 0,070. As medidas foram efetuadas com micrômetro medindo-se
10 pontos de cada placa. As medidas de largura e comprimento não foram realizadas, pois esses
parâmetros não influenciam na uniformidade da dose. Para que a distribuição da atividade do
fósforo-32 fosse estipulada, uma simulação por Método de Monte Carlo utilizando o código MCNP
foi realizada. A variação máxima de dose ao longo da placa, considerando uma espessura
totalmente uniforme de 0,300 mm, resultou em < 0,5 % até 0,5 cm antes da borda. O resultado da
simulação mostra que com uma placa de espessura uniforme, a tendência da distribuição de dose
seja homogênea. Pautando-se nos resultados, as placas de polímero epóxi se mostram viáveis para
o uso em braquiterapia, sendo que o próximo passo do trabalho será os testes com material
radioativo, a avaliação por métodos dosimétricos físicos e computacionais.

Abstract:
In Brazil, it is estimated that for the biennium 2018 2019, that occurred 600 thousand of new cases of cancer for each year and lung cancer is the most common of all malignant tumors. Radiotherapy acts as a form of treatment from which come two basic modalities for the treatment of cancer: teletherapy and brachytherapy. In teletherapy is used a linear accelerator to make the application and before starting the treatment is carried out a planning that makes the acquisition of all anatomical information of the patient and then the classification of areas of interest in the patient. All planning prior to initiation undergoes a quality control dosimetry, which ensures that the dose prescribed in the planning will be delivered accurately in the treatment of the patient. In radiotherapy the dosimetry is applied as an independent measurement and this work has the objective of comparing the dosimetric plan of lung cancer in adjacent organs in this case the organ of risk is the heart
with dose values calculated in the planning system (TPS) using an anthropomorphic phanton. All dosimetry was performed with thermo luminescent dosimeters (Lif: Mg,Ti TLD 100). We selected 50 TLDs that underwent a calibration process with thermal treatment, irradiation and reading. All the dosimeters passed through the reader in order to quantify its reading. The TLDs chosen were those that obtained coefficients of variation of less than 5% for three cycles of irradiation, in order to prove the methodology used for the thermal treatment, reading and calibration of dosimeters.

Abstract:
Introdução: O interesse no radionuclídeo iodo-125 baseia-se em sua variabilidade em
aplicações médicas, dentre elas a braquiterapia. Ele pode ser gerado em reator nuclear,
porém neste processo forma-se também o iodo-126, subproduto indesejável. Este trabalho
tem como objetivo avaliar a contaminação do iodo-126 no iodo-125 gerado no reator
IEA-R1 do IPEN, para ser utilizado em sementes para tratamento de câncer. Materiais e Métodos: Para obter o iodo-125, irradiou-se cápsulas contendo o gás
xenônio-124 no reator IEA-R1. Recuperou-se o gás de interesse por meio de uma solução
de hidróxido de sódio (NaOH). As amostras foram analisadas por um detector de
germânio hiperpuro (HPGe) para verificar a proporção de iodo-125 e iodo-126 gerados.
Nota-se que o iodo-126 gera gamas de 388,6 keV e 668,3 keV que atrapalha o uso do
iodo-125 em aplicações médicas. Resultados e Discussões: O iodo-125 produzido apresentou pureza radionuclídica maior
que 99%. É necessário que a quantidade de iodo-126 seja no máximo de 0,9%. Conclusões: A produção no reator IEA-R1, as cápsulas de irradiação adotadas e o sistema
de detecção se mostraram adequados. A validação deste processo mostra que o IPEN
possui autonomia para produzir iodo-125 e utilizá-lo em aplicações da medicina nuclear.

Abstract:
There is a great challenge the implantation on assurance quality system in the brachytherapy
sources production. It involves tofulfill the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) requirements,
involving the process validation and of all supporting activities such as cleaning and sanitization.
The purpose of this work was to execute a process validation in the iodine-125 seeds production
on Radiation Technology Center located at IPEN- Brazil. Besides this, the sanitization was to
evaluate the effectiveness of different surface cleaning products, determining the best to reduce
radiological contamination to acceptable levels during the sources production, according to
legislation. The fabrication process was performed three times for evaluation. The parameters
evaluated in this study were: the source welding efficiency and the leakage tests results (immersion
test). The welding efficiency doesn’t have an established parameter, since is visually evaluated by
the operator, and the leakage detection has to be under 5 nCi / 185 Bq, accordingly with the ISO
9978. In the relation of sanitization, it was established a cleaning program for three production lots
of iodine 125 seeds using three types of sanitizers: Lot 1 with extran 1/1 (v/v), Lot 2 with hydrogen
peroxide 6% and Lot 3 with sodium hydroxide 1M. Each lots contained seven iodine 125 seeds
and was immersed in the sanitizer for 1 hour and then two washes with distilled water. An activity
detected in each lots does not exceed 0,2 kBq (˭5nCi). The observed values on process validation
were: 75% welding efficiency and 32% leakage detection. Although established values for the
global efficiency aren’t available in the literature, the results showed high consistency and
acceptable percentages, especially when other similar manufacturing processes are used in
comparison (average 85-70% found in the literature for other similar metallic structures).
According to results of sanitization, the best choice for remove de surface contamination was
peroxide hydrogen. Further testing should ensure the sanitizer's choice is based not only on the
removal of surface contamination, but also this sanitizer does not leave residues requiring further
rinsing with distilled water. Those values will be important data when drafting the validation
document and to follow the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Abstract:
Observation and identification of predictive factors for results and morbidity are essential in the ideal selection of patients who can use brachytherapy as a treatment modality for prostate cancer. Thus, the objective of this research is to characterize the population of patients with prostate cancer treated at the General Public Hospital of Palmas in 2015, in the state of Tocantins. The method used was quantitative, with the characteristics of a retrospective, transversal and descriptive analysis. Held in the largest state health unit, the General Public Hospital of Palmas that, despite its large dimensions, lives with the main problems of the Unified Health System, such as overcrowding and shortages. It was found that most of the patients seen corresponded to the age of 70 to 79 years, making 45%, followed by patients aged between 60 and 69 years, with 33%. Most of the individuals attended were from the state of Tocantins, but some lived in an adjacent city in the state of Pará. Data related to the Gleason score showed that there was a predominance of levels 6 and 7 indicating intermediate grade tumors, considering that the most of the observed population was older. It was concluded that the analyzed patients had a predominant staging of CaP II and III, thus most of the individuals, 23 of the 35 analyzed, were not able to undergo brachytherapy due to the high degree of disease staging.

Abstract:
Cervical cancer (CC) is a worldwide public health problem and stands out in the North of the State of Tocantins as the leading cause of the cancer death. It is the fourth most common type cancer in women, with an estimate of 570 thousand new cases and 311 thousand deaths from this disease worldwide in 2018. The lack of effective screening increases the incidence of late diagnosis weighing on the budgets of developing countries, which are the most affected. The objective of this work is to describe the epidemiological profile of the woman treated which a diagnosis of cervical cancer in Northern of Tocantins. Materials and methods: It is a descriptive, retrospective, quantitative-interpretive study with analysis of data collected from 2000 to 2015 by the Health Information System of the Hospital Cancer Registry (SIS-RHC) linked to the Regional Hospital of Araguaína (HRA). The data were tabulated in spreadsheets for analysis of the variables evaluated. Results: 2.664 women with cervical cancer treated at the HRA were analyzed during this period. Within the existing stages, the stages 0, I and II were considered “early staging”, and stages III and IV were considered “late staging”. Conclusions: The factors occupation, race, education and smoking were well defined in the incidence of this tumor, especially in the case of late staging. The challenges are many to obtain adequate medical assistance, mainly in the Northern Region of Tocantins and adjacent regions. The knowledge of the epidemiological profile of these women will be important for the development of new health prevention policies, improving the incidence and mortality from this tumor.

Abstract:
The conservative surgery for impalpable breast cancer requires an intraoperative localization method that guides the identification and correct excision of the lesion. The aim of this study is to comparatively analyze two intraoperative breast localization technologies, wire guided localization (WGL) and radioactive seed localization (RSL), regarding their surgical efficacy through the outcomes of surgical margins, intraoperative re-excision, reoperation and recurrence. To this end, a systematic search was realized in databases for clinical trials that match with the study eligibility criteria. The selected studies were evaluated for their methodological quality; the data were then collected and quantitatively synthesized. The results comprised thirty-eight studies that match the eligibility criteria. The main outcomes reported demonstrating that the RSL is at least equivalent to the WGL in efficiency rates. These results confirm the method applicability for impalpable breast lesions surgery in an effective way, in addition to presenting organizational optimization of radiology and surgery services by allowing the surgery to be performed up to two months after seed implantation.

Abstract:
Dentre as infecções fúngicas mais comuns, a candidíase é um sério problema de saúde pública em todo mundo. Uma das drogas mais utilizadas para o tratamento é a Anfotericina-B, que além de ser nefrotóxica, tem potencial de causar resistência da levedura a esse antifúngico. A cintilografia pulmonar de inalação/perfusão, é um dos exames atualmente utilizados para diagnóstico de tromboembolismo pulmonar. No entanto, pacientes com alterações respiratórias inespecíficas que realizam esse procedimento na tentativa de exclusão diagnóstica, podem estar diante de uma pneumonia fúngica, ainda não diagnosticada. A literatura é escassa quando se busca relacionar o comportamento das leveduras às baixas doses de radiação gama e seu perfil de resistência frente à Anfotericina B, após irradiadas. OBJETIVO: Avaliar o perfil comportamental dos fungos, “in vitro”, diante de baixas doses de radiação gama oriunda dos radiotraçadores utilizados em exames de cintilografia pulmonar inalação/perfusão e após a irradiação, em relação a Anfotericina B. METODOLOGIA: Estudo prospectivo de caso controle com cepas de Candida albicans distribuídas em três tubos de ensaio com quantidades idênticas acrescidas de solução salina e 40 mCi de 99mTc (Tecnécio meta estável) puro, 40 mCi de 99mTc-DTPA e 6 mCi de 99mTc-MAA respectivamente, mantendo um tubo de ensaio sem ser irradiado para fins de controle. Todo experimento sendo realizado em triplicata. Essa exposição à radiação se deu por 36 horas, acarretando seis meias-vidas do 99mTc, onde ao final da sexta meia-vida praticamente não se encontrou mais atividade radioativa significativa. Para as análises de cinética de crescimento e sensibilidade ao antifúngico foram utilizados os testes de Análise de Variância (ANOVA) baseada num modelo de medidas repetidas e o teste de Shapiro-Wilk. RESULTADOS: Houve diminuição do halo de crescimento dos fungos que foram irradiados em comparação ao grupo controle frente à Anfotericina B. Entretanto, os fungos não apresentaram um perfil previsível de crescimento e comportaram-se de maneiras distintas quando analisados entre os grupos (DTPA+Tc, Tc puro, MAA+ Tc, Controle), e também quando avaliados em relação aos tempos (0h, 2h, 4h, etc).

Abstract:
Introdução: Os dosímetros Fricke xilenol gel (FXG) têm vantagens como a química bem
conhecida da solução e a equivalência do tecido em faixa de energias de fótons. O
objetivo deste trabalho é a produção do dosímetro FXG com adição de formaldeído para
utilização de irradiação de longo tempo. Materiais e Métodos: A receita FXG foi adaptada de Del Lama (2013) com adição de
0,189 M de formaldeído. Uma fonte de 60Co (Gammacell) foi utilizada para irradiação.
Para analisar o espectro visível, utilizou-se um espectrofotômetro Shimadzu UV-1800
nos comprimentos de ondas entre 350 e 650 nm. Resultados e Discussões: Os FXGs apresentaram duas bandas (Figura 1): em 439 e 578
nm correspondentes aos íons Fe2+ e Fe3+ originados pela radio-oxidação dos íons Fe2+. Conclusões: A produção de FXG modificada foi bem estabelecida e apresentou
vantagens como melhor difusão dos íons Fe2+ e estabilidade em relação ao FXG padrão.

Abstract:
The development of new materials emerges as an alternative to the treatment of cancer,
from the combination of nanotechnology and brachytherapy a new area of research was
born, Nanobrachytherapy, which through the properties of nanometric materials can
achieve better results in the fight against cancer. The objective of this work is classified as
radiotherapy, which consists of the use of ionizing radiation to destroy or inhibit the growth
of abnormal cells that form a tumor. [1] The ability to integrate NPsAu into biological
systems is due to the nanometric dimensions of NPsAu probes which facilitate their
incorporation into biological systems, as well as their bioconjugation and non-cytotoxic
potential. [2] Taking into account the previous objective, gold was selected as the base
element for obtaining nanometric systems, which due to its chemical richness and especially
due to the intrinsic properties of one of its radioisotopes, which would allow us in theory to
meet the stated objective. . Initially, it was based on the knowledge of the literature, and
non-radioactive nanometric systems were obtained, and after a series of stability,
characterization and application tests, the radioactive nanometric systems were obtained.
Working with radioactive systems posed a great challenge, and up to now it presents us
with situations to solve, but we have managed to create a methodology for obtaining,
characterizing and applying radioactive gold nanoparticles, and also obtaining positive
results from their application.

Abstract:
Brachytherapy is a modality of radiotherapy which treats tumors using ionizing radiation with sources located close to the tumor. The sources can be produced from several radionuclides in various formats, such as Iodine-125 seeds and Iridium-192 wires. In order to produce a new Iodine-125 seed in IPEN/CNEN and ensure its quality, it is essential to describe the dosimetry of the seed, so when applied in a treatment the lowest possible dose to neighboring healthy tissues can be reached. The report by the AAPM’s Task Group 43 U1 is a document that indicates the dosimetry procedures in brachytherapy based on physical and geometrical parameters. In this study, dose-rate constant and air-kerma strength parameters were simulated using the Monte Carlo method radiation transport code MCNP4C. The air-kerma strength is obtained from an ideal modeled
seed, since its actual value should be measured for seeds individually in a specialized lab with a Wide-Angle
Free-Air Chamber (WAFAC). Dose-rate constant and air-kerma strength are parameters that depends on intrinsic characteristics of the source, i.e. geometry, radionuclide, encapsulation, and together they define the dose-rate to the reference point, defined as the dose-rate to a point 1 cm away from the geometric center of the source, in its transverse plane. This study presents the values found for these parameters with associated statistical uncertainty, and is part of a larger project that aims the full dosimetry of this new seed model, including experimental measures.

O RI-IPEN apresenta também um aspecto inovador no seu funcionamento. Por meio de metadados específicos ele está vinculado ao sistema de gerenciamento das atividades do Plano Diretor anual do IPEN (SIGEPI). Com o objetivo de fornecer dados numéricos para a elaboração dos indicadores da Produção Cientifica Institucional, disponibiliza uma tabela estatística registrando em tempo real a inserção de novos itens. Foi criado um metadado que contém um número único para cada integrante da comunidade científica do IPEN. Esse metadado se transformou em um filtro que ao ser acionado apresenta todos os trabalhos de um determinado autor independente das variáveis na forma de citação do seu nome.
