    Abstract: The purpose of the present study is therefore to install an electron beam accelerator (20 kW and 700 keV) in a mobile unit to treat effluent from petroleum production, for petroleum desulfurization and, in addition, for degradation of toxic organic compounds in wastewater for reusein, in partnerships with private and public institutions. Several technical aspects were considered in this installation, such as following the national transport legislation and the safety requirements (BSS, IAEA and CNEN Safety Standards). Technical characteristics of the electron beam accelerator (EBA) are energy of 700 keV and 28.5 mA of beam current, with 60 cm scan length. The installation of the EBA includes the developing and manufacturing a radiological shield. In several points of the mobile unit, GM type radiation sensors will be installed for radiological monitoring during irradiation processing, interlocked with the accelerator’s safe operating system. For the design of a vacuum system with mechanical pumps, ion pump and sensors, the following procedures will be carried out: a) design of an optimized system of the mobile unit power supply; b) development of a cooling system with deionized water and pressurized air for the cooling of the EBA systems in the scan horn, high voltage generator, control panel, vacuum system, among other peripherals; c) installation of the fan to cool the thin titanium window; d) installation of an ozone filter in the exhaust system to remove gas generated during irradiation; e) project of a mechanical structural reinforcement of the trailer was studied, improved and executed. In the mobile unit, a space was created for an analysis laboratory to monitor the wastewater before and after irradiation, establishing parameters in the quality control of the irradiated material.

    Abstract: Decorative paint, whether a polyvinyl or acrylic emulsion, is one of the most widely used coating forms in the world. According to the Brazilian Association of Coatings Manufacturers (ABRAFATI) [1], decorative paints accounted for 82.7% of the volume of all paints produced in Brazil (2018). In 2016, this segment had revenues of US $2,352 million and produced 1,548 billion liters in 2018. This shows the relevance of the sector, besides the Brazilian market being one of the five largest in the world. The aim of this project was to propose the application of the concepts of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Circular Economy in a premium acrylic emulsion architectural paint and to improve the properties of this paint by the addition of aqueous dispersion of cellulose waste processed by electrons. The methodology used was a case study, which consisted of the preparation of dispersion of industrial cellulose waste in demineralized water at concentrations of 5% to 10%, processed with electron beam in absorbed doses of 5 kGy to 50 kGy. Key achievements include minimizing environmental impacts and identifying opportunities to improve environmental performance throughout the product life cycle. Another result was to identify a new application of nuclear technology in the industrial area, especially involving the real estate paints area. In addition, maintaining and improving the properties of premium acrylic emulsion, such as appearance, specific mass, coating power, color, solids content, pH, biodegradability, and the possibility of cost savings, were excellent results that met the product specifications Abrafati Quality Program [1]. It is concluded that the research represents an innovative business opportunity by joining the cellulose paint and tissue segments in a sustainable way (economically, socially and environmentally), reusing the dispersed cellulose waste in electron beam-treated aqueous solution and improving the properties paint within the technical process cycle as it recommends circular economy through the application of regenerative and restorative process principles.

    Abstract: Electron beam accelerators are used in many applications, such as basic physical research, chemistry, medicine, molecular biology, microelectronics, agriculture and industry, among others. The majority of the accelerators have electrons from a hot tungsten filament and their energy is increased as it passes through an electric field in the vacuum chamber. For industrial purposes, the most common model is Dynamitrons®. At IPEN-CNEN/SP, there is an electron beam accelerator Dynamitron® Type (Manufactured by RDI- Radiation Dynamics Inc., 1978) model DC1500/25/4. The technology applied was available in the 60´s and 70´s, but, nowadays is obsolete. Moreover, there are not original spare parts for this equipment any longer. The aim of this work is to develop a nationalized automated operation system for the accelerator, to replace the old equipment.

    Abstract: Among the various applications of radioisotopes, the use of radiotracers is considered the most important in diagnosing operation and troubleshooting of industrial process plants in chemical and petrochemical companies. The radiotracers are used in analytical procedures to obtain qualitative and quantitative data systems, in physical and physicochemical studies transfers. In the production of gaseous radioisotopes used as tracers in industrial process measurements, argon-41 (41Ar) and krypton-79 (79Kr) have low reactivity with other chemical elements. 41Ar is a transmitter range with high-energy (1.29MeV) and a high percentage of this energy transformation (99.1%), resulting in relatively small quantities required in relation to the other, for an efficient detection, even in large thicknesses components. Nowadays, the production of gaseous radioisotopes in nuclear research reactors is performed in small quantities (batches), through quartz ampoules containing natural gas 40Ar or 78Kr. In this sense, the aim of this study is to develop an irradiation system for gaseous radioisotope production in continuous scale, applied in industrial applications of emission tomography and flow measurement. The irradiation system may produce 41Ar with activity of 7.4x1011Bq (20Ci) per irradiation cycle, through the Reactor IEA-R1 with 4.5MW and average thermal neutron flux of 4.71x1013 ncm-2s-1 to meet an existing demand in NDT and inspections companies, and even needed by the Radiation Technology Centre, at IPEN/CNEN-SP. The irradiation system consists of an aluminium irradiation capsule, transfer lines, needle valves, stripy connections, quick connectors, manometer, vacuum system, dewar, lead shielding, storage and transport cylinders, among other components. The irradiation system was approved in the leakage and stability tests (bubble test, pressurization, evacuation and with leak detector equipment SPECTRON 600 T). In the experimental production, alanine dosimeters were distributed into various components of the irradiation system, obtaining 1.07x1011Bq (2.9Ci) of 41Ar. In addition, exposure rates were determined in the lead shielding wall, in which the liquefied radioactive gas was concentrated, and in the storage and transport cylinders after 41Ar was transferred, by the portable radiation meter Teletector ® Probe 6150 AD-t/H.

    Abstract: In this work the pathway of the chemical product and the kinetics parameters were evaluated in a laboratory plant settled, using 40 GBq of 67Ga citrate as radiotracer and 18 NaI(Tl) radiation detectors. The AnaComp program was used to estimate the kinetic parameters of the acetone production. The yield of the acetone production was estimated by the percentage ratio between the areas under the curve (AUC) of the curve profiles of the final product compartment divided by the concentration found inside the chemical reactor whose result was 87% yield during the first 30 minutes of reaction.

    Abstract: The last decade witnessed the drastic increase in the use of antidepressant drugs, being fluoxetine the most prescribed worldwide. Conventional wastewater treatment is inefficient in removing fluoxetine and its accumulation in water bodies and water living organism is inevitable. Among several methods for contaminant removal from wastewater, electron beam irradiation is an efficient and green technology. This work presents the characterization of aqueous fluoxetine samples before and after irradiation. Gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry was used to identify the original compound and its irradiation products. Results indicate a drastic reduction in fluoxetine presence after the irradiation process. Radiolysis pathways were proposed based on mass fragments identification.

Para indexação dos documentos é utilizado o Thesaurus do INIS, especializado na área nuclear e utilizado em todos os países membros da International Atomic Energy Agency – IAEA , por esse motivo, utilize os termos de busca de assunto em inglês; isto não exclui a busca livre por palavras, apenas o resultado pode não ser tão relevante ou pertinente.

95% do RD apresenta o texto completo do documento com livre acesso, para aqueles que apresentam o significa que e o documento está sujeito as leis de direitos autorais, solicita-se nesses casos contatar a Biblioteca do IPEN, bibl@ipen.br .

Ao efetuar a busca por um autor o RD apresentará uma relação de todos os trabalhos depositados no RD. No lado direito da tela são apresentados os coautores com o número de trabalhos produzidos em conjunto bem como os assuntos abordados e os respectivos anos de publicação agrupados.

O RD disponibiliza um quadro estatístico de produtividade, onde é possível visualizar o número dos trabalhos agrupados por tipo de coleção, a medida que estão sendo depositados no RD.

Na página inicial nas referências são sinalizados todos os autores IPEN, ao clicar nesse símbolo será aberta uma nova página correspondente à aquele autor – trata-se da página do pesquisador.

Na página do pesquisador, é possível verificar, as variações do nome, a relação de todos os trabalhos com texto completo bem como um quadro resumo numérico; há links para o Currículo Lattes e o Google Acadêmico ( quando esse for informado).

Para participar do RI-IPEN é necessário que pelo menos um dos autores tenha vínculo acadêmico ou funcional com o Instituto. Nesta primeira etapa de funcionamento do RI, a coleta das publicações é realizada periodicamente pela equipe da Biblioteca do IPEN, extraindo os dados das bases internacionais tais como a Web of Science, Scopus, INIS, SciElo além de verificar o Currículo Lattes. O RI-IPEN apresenta também um aspecto inovador no seu funcionamento. Por meio de metadados específicos ele está vinculado ao sistema de gerenciamento das atividades do Plano Diretor anual do IPEN (SIGEPI). Com o objetivo de fornecer dados numéricos para a elaboração dos indicadores da Produção Cientifica Institucional, disponibiliza uma tabela estatística registrando em tempo real a inserção de novos itens. Foi criado um metadado que contém um número único para cada integrante da comunidade científica do IPEN. Esse metadado se transformou em um filtro que ao ser acionado apresenta todos os trabalhos de um determinado autor independente das variáveis na forma de citação do seu nome.

O Repositório Digital do IPEN é um equipamento institucional de acesso aberto, criado com o objetivo de reunir, preservar, disponibilizar e conferir maior visibilidade à Produção Científica publicada pelo Instituto, desde sua criação em 1956.
